"Grant, things are going SO much better! They are tending to "push back" a bit here and there, but they are listening! I did take "Karma" on "her own" walks with me and that has really helped her anxiety issues!

They are also now waiting patienly on their own food and not attacking the dishes- same for water now. AND... neither dog is jumping on visitors any more! Thanks so much!

All about Perfectly Pawsible

About the business...     about Grant | about Aaron | about (my dog) Axle

We love dogs. Plain and simple, we love 'em. And those that behave, listen to their owners and are always good citizens, we love even more. To be honest, that's not entirely accurate. We do love ALL dogs. It's the owners that understand how to manage their dog(s) to behave, listen and keep their dogs being good citizens we love even more.

We truly believe that dogs are a direct reflection on the expectations of the environment they live in. That's why we love working with great owners that want to have their beloved pets be good canine citizens!

Most hard things in life (adopting dogs, raising kids and marriage come to mind) generally don't come with an instruction book. Many dog pounds and other adoption agencies don't have the budget to manage everything they would love to do for our four-legged, furry friends. Wouldn't it be great if they were funded in a way that would allow them to evaluate the homes that dogs are adopted into? Sigh. That's a whole other issue.

So here's the point, people often bring a dog or puppy into their lives without understanding much more than the dog is cute and sure has a neato personality (At least while they were at the pound!). It takes work and planning.

While watching 213 episodes of Dogs 101, Dog Whisperer and Dog Town may make dog obedience look easy, once we start living with our favorite fur ball, we sometimes realize that we may not have all the tools to train our new pack member. And/or we may not understand exactly what our particular dog may need to learn. It's about communication. We all have different needs, and while some clients that understand all that, they may not know how to teach it to their dog.

We believe each human pack/dog combination has unique needs. Every owner, family and dog have personalities that mesh in unique ways and no one method will work everywhere. Therefore, we believe that we HAVE to get to know each owner/pet in the environment that they are affected by each day. Only after careful evaluation do we suggest a course of action and sit down with the owner to confirm their goals and final expectations.

We work "one on one" with each owner (any and all human pack members living with the dog) and dog(s). There are many places and options for socializing your pet, we're about working with you only to achieve your goals for your family and pet.

About Owner, Grant Holmes...

Owner Grant Holmes is a somewhat serial entrepreneur having created and operated several businesses from a 7-time award-winning construction company, a "people" training business, an entertainment/production company, and Perfectly Pawsible, Professional Dog Obedience Training that gets Results, NOW!Owner Grant Holmes and German Shepherd, Lexi

Why dog training? Well as Grant says, "It's really not dog training. It's obedience repetition for the dog and 'how to' training for their human keeper. That's why we say, 'Obedience for dogs...Training for humans" We work mainly in the Tri-city area of Tennessee. Johnson City, Kingsport, Bristol, Elizabethton, and even into Abingdon VA (see service area).

Grant goes on, "Dogs we've owned have been highly trained. I've expected my dogs to listen to commands, not jump on people, leave guests alone that don't want dog attention, and so on. I've always trained dogs with hand signals and whistles so I can control them at a distance and worked without electric fences, expecting my dogs to learn boundaries. Over the years, many friends have commented on our dogs good behavior and some suggesting that I train others dogs, so now I do! I love dogs, love working with them, but MY reward is when a frustrated owner becomes a calm-assertive pack leader and I see them relaxing physically in them as their dog becomes a model citizen!"

About Trainer, Aaron Holmes...

Trainer Aaron HolmesAaron was with us at the start of this business. Since, he has decided to serve our country in the Army. Out of respect to that decision, I hold his place here. Our thoughts and prayers are with Aaron!!

About Axle

German Shepherd dog, AxleAxle is brand-new to us on Oct, 4 2012. He was rescued from a shelter that would have euthanized him! We could barely belive he was in a shelter! When we got Axle he did not respond to human commands at all. he's doing great, putting on weight and learning every day.
